Join us aboard one of our 4×4 Open Back Jeep Safaris for an exhilarating half-day adventure! Our journey begins with a scenic 30-minute drive along the seaside main road, passing through Castries city center. Along the way, you’ll catch glimpses of the Catholic Church, the famous Derek Walcott Square (named after the renowned St. Lucian poet who won the Nobel Prize for Literature), the Morne viewpoint offering stunning views of Castries Harbour, and the Governor General’s Residence—a perfect spot for photo opportunities. During this part of the adventure the Guide / Driver will engross the guests into true Lucian life from past to present.
As we continue, our jeeps traverse through St. Lucia’s Community College (Sir Arthur Lewis), named after St. Lucia’s 2nd Nobel Laureate, and venture into rural communities and lush banana plantations—the primary agricultural export of St. Lucia. Guests will have the chance to stop at a local vendor to sample fresh bananas and other seasonal delicacies.
Leaving modern civilization behind, we embark on a thrilling “jungle journey” through rural countryside, passing by banana fields, bamboo shoots, and local wildlife, if we’re lucky. The ascent offers breathtaking views, and on clear days, you might catch a glimpse of Morne Gimie, St. Lucia’s tallest mountain standing at 3,200 feet.
Our next stop is in the rainforest and involves a short hike (approximately 30 minutes) to the stunning Venus waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. Our amazing guides will provide the guests with an exceptional experience during this hike and share inside knowledge of the flora and fauna. Our Forest Ranger, Branch, will provide wooden walking sticks due to the uneven terrain and cobblestones. The Venus waterfall itself is sublime! Many marriage proposals have taken place at this miraculous location.
Please note that restroom facilities are not available at the waterfall site due to its natural setting
Continuing our Tropical Jeep Experience, we take a 15 minute drive to the authentic and charming fishing village of Anse La Raye. We offer private restroom facilities and the possibility to buy a local Piton Beer. Guests can take the opportunity to change into dry clothes. There is some time to explore the local scene, sampling local snacks, and drinks. The vendors along the stunning waterfront also sell some keepsakes. The villagers are always ready to interact with the guests and the bustling fishing scene is a great topic for conversation. The beautiful Anse La Raye Church also welcomes the guests and is worth a visit. The town itself has authentic Caribbean architecture.
Our Grand Finale is a scenic half-hour return journey with a stop at Marigot Bay for breathtaking photo opportunities. Marigot Bay has been used in a few famous films which will be revealed by our guide.
